Georgia recap and today's drop!

Alright guys!

So I don't know if I should assume that everyone does or more importantly does not see my youtube videos or Instagram updates but I'm going to assume folks here do not because that is the point of the blog, to give updates to folks who might not see them elsewhere!!!

Before I get too far into it i want to take another moment to give a shoutout to the family over at White River- i know those guys busted their butt's to get me today's drop and I know they bust their butt's all year round! They are truly salt of the earth people and I am so proud to be able to work with them!

A slow year

So I have had quite a few road blocks this year that have led to less knives in stock than I would prefer. I got underwater on knives last year when I placed an excessively large order for HiViZ only for them to sit and sell slowly when I expected them to fly out the door for Christmas. That mistake has hampered my ability to do some of the things that I wanted to do this year, and on top of that the guys had a machine go down which further cramped our production schedule.

Then add to that life, my third child and first daughter was born about 6 months ago this year, and I have had a HECK of a time with goat fencing, and things have been crazy busy and youtube video's have suffered as well!

Lord willing coming out of that this year I can get back on track and hit next year HARD by keeping knives in stock all the time and finally getting into some long overdue new knife models, especially the Legionnaire, the Chipmunk, and the Woodpecker!

Speaking of new models, the Mutant finally drops TODAY! If you have been following along the mutant has been a model that has been around as a prototype for an awfully long time. The design has finally had some tweaks done to it and it has entered production! I don't have many of them available today but Lord willing I'll have more before Christmas and a LOT more next year!

The Mutants are A2- I have wanted to have high carbon as an option ever since I began working with WRK&T. I seem to be one of those weird people who likes both super steels, AND plain stainlesses AND high carbon steels!

And speaking of high carbon steels i intend for upcoming, beefier knives to feature the toughest steels around so I will soon be testing 15n20, ideally at about 61hrc, 8670 at about 59.5, and Zapp Ztuff probably about 60. This testing will be done with Ross at Dry Creek Forge and once the Legionnaire and other old, brand legend designs hit we will be able to show objective testing done to the best of our ability to back our selection. Please go check out Dry Creek Forge, he makes some really amazing stuff!

Next year as I mentioned I hope to have knives in stock at all times but I also hope to go bigger than ever at Georgia Bushcraft both for the spring and for the fall, and to go bigger at BladeShow Atlanta as well with Baker Forge Billet AdventureCrafts and other WILD options!

I think that's it for today guys but if you want to grab a Mutant i recommend that tonight at 7:55pm central you have your eyes peeled on the website!
